Our Story

It all started when...

Our story begins back in the early years of the 1960's when a small core group of families moved to Ortonville from the Richfield Church of the Nazarene in Otisville, Michigan, and began to worship in what is now the Old Town(Grange) Hall building.

Within a couple of years this group had grown and with substantial financial support from the Pastor's dairy farm income, four acres were purchased 4 miles south of town along M-15 across from beautiful Lake Louise. A building and home were completed on the property and the church continued to grow. An addition was built in the 1980's to house a larger sanctuary and offices and classrooms.

The leadership team and congregation voted to rename the church "Brandon Community Church of the Nazarene" in order to serve as a reminder of whom we minister to. While the name has changed twice over the church's 60 year history, the heartbeat has stayed the same - to love God, love others, and serve the world.

We seek to be a people who engage in our community and world in such a way that God is made known and people are drawn to him.

We would love for your story to become part of ours. There are no "unwelcome" people for us - everyone is welcome and anything is possible with God!
